Panasonic Lumix GH5S camera launched at CES 2018
Mumbai: Panasonichas introduced its flagship DSLR camera for 2018, the LUMIX GH5S. The company is touting its new single-lens mirrorless Camera made mainly for professional filmmakers. Also highlighted is the fact that the GH5S works well in low light conditions.
The camera is said to have a 'new' 10.2-megapixel Digital MOS Sensor with Dual Native ISO technology along with Venus Engine 10 letting the DSLR to capture clear images even on high ISO levels. With Panasonic LUMIX GH5S users can even shoot content in 14-bit RAW format. Videographers can shoot videos in low light without noise due to the device's Dual Native ISO technology.
Another feature being boasted for the camera is its True "Multi-Aspect Ratio" Function. With this users can easily swap between different aspect ratios. Although this won't mean anything for regular photography enthusiasts, it will be a great addition for video shooters in highlighting the subject and making the post production process editing process easy.
Panasonic says that the LUMIX GS5S can also be used as a Time Code generator for other GH5S cameras or camcorders. While the GH5 was able to shoot 4K resolution video at 60p, the new GH5S is said to have world's first 4K 60p video recording in Cinema 4K (4096x2160). The camera is also capable of recording both Full-HD and 4K video recording without any time limits.
That said, the GH5S comes with support for dual SD memory cards. It can supports cards with high-capacity UHS-II and Video Speed Class 90. Wireless connectivity functionality is also available in the LUMIX GH5S.
Detailing more on it, the company says that, "The GH5S includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi® connectivity to offer a more flexible shooting experience and instant image sharing with easy operation. Compatibility with Bluetooth 4.2 (called BLE: Bluetooth Low Energy) enables constant connection with a smartphone/tablet with minimum power consumption. For Wi-Fi, 5 GHz (IEEE802.11ac)8 can be selected in addition to the conventional 2.4 GHz (IEEE 802.11b/g/n) for an even more secure and stable connection."
The Panasonic LUMIX GH5S will be made available in markets from next month and will cost $2499, which is roughly Rs 1.6 lakhs (body only).
